Mencken Society, 1978-2001 and undated

The Mencken Society series contains newsletters, membership rolls, and advertisements for society events. The newsletters consist of a nearly complete run from 1980 to 2001 and constitute a record of the activities of the Mencken Society and its members. The series also includes event publicity, meeting minutes and agenda, materials relating to financial matters, brochures, Mencken House materials, and Mencken House correspondence. Materials and correspondence... on the purchase, restoration, and operation of the Mencken House in Baltimore have been included with this series because of Arthur Gutman's role in the stewardship of the house while he served as president of the Mencken Society.
