Clippings, 1918-1972 and undated
This series consists of clippings collected by C. E. Frazer Clark, Jr., on a variety of Hemingway subjects. The materials are a useful compendium of articles about Hemingway and his works, including articles from his journalism career in Kansas City and Toronto from 1918 to 1922. The clippings include seven of his first columns with the Kansas City Star, some with his by-line and others unattributed, five of which were included in a letter from Hemingway to his parents on April 19, 1918, and thirteen columns from the Toronto Daily Star, also some with his by-line and some unattributed. In addition, there are clippings of his stories and non-fiction articles.
Materials are arranged in eight subgroups in the following order: By Hemingway; Book reviews; About Hemingway; Hemingway's homes; Reviews of books about Hemingway; Articles mentioning Hemingway; Film/play related; and the Manuscript market.
