Correspondence, 1925-1977
Subseries 2 contains all of the correspondence of Local 132 from 1925 to 1977. The union titled these folders "correspondence," but these folders contain much more than correspondence. The earliest materials have treasurer's and secretary's reports from each month of the respective year. The more recent files, while still consisting of reports from the treasurer and secretary, also have correspondence from the national union in the form of circular letters and other general mailings sent to all local unions. The subseries also includes files regarding pension plans for specific members, elections for the local union, and general mailings from organizations who had dealings with the local union. Examples of these organizations are the Greater Washington Central Labor Council, the National Joint Carpentry Apprenticeship and Training Committee, and the Washington Building and Construction Trades Council.
