Ladies Auxiliary Files, 1888-1998

This series contains correspondence between UBCJA headquarters and local auxiliaries concerning the founding and new officers of and disputes concerning Ladies Auxiliary chapters. Some constitutions of Ladies Auxiliary chapters are also included in this series. The local union number and geographic location with which each Ladies Auxiliary is associated is indicated in the folder title if known. Some Ladies Auxiliary chapter numbers were reassigned after the original auxiliary disbanded, so some folder titles may list multiple local union numbers and geographical locations. Some of the folders include part or all of the Ladies Auxiliary local charter, while some Ladies Auxiliary charters are in subseries 1.5: Charters. The collection does not include every Ladies Auxiliary charter. The series is arranged: Ladies Auxiliary locals, by number; state organizations, alphabetically; applications for charters, chronologically; and other subject files, chronologically.
