Chronological Files, 1933-1940

The files dated 1933-1940 contain a scattering of AFL economic research correspondence and reports relating to Shishkin. This is followed by material relating to the National Labor Relations Board, 1934-1936, and reports and research statistics on the Textile Industry, 1938-1940. The remainder of the subseries consists of some of the files of the Labor Housing Conference from 1934 to 1936 with a few items carrying over to 1940. In a letter to Shishkin dated July 12, 1936, Conference Executive Secretary Catherine Bauer gives a brief inventory of the files up to that point, so it is possible to measure how much of the conference's records reside in the Shishkin collection.
