Corporate Proposals and Program Proposals, 1966-1982
This subseries contains proposals created between 1966 and 1982. The proposals in this series led to the establishment/funding of Children's Television Workshop (CTW) as a corporate entity as well as several programs that then became a key part of CTW. Notably, these proposals include the first proposal to produce an educational television program for preschool children researched and written by Joan Cooney in 1966 for Channel 13/WNET (then WNDT) in New York and a proposal on the same subject written by Cooney for the Carnegie Corporation of New York. In 1968 these proposals were refined and expanded into a proposal to create a Children's Television Workshop. This series also includes program proposals for what became Sesame Street and The Electric Company.
