Newspapers on Microfilm, filmed circa 1935-1986

 Series

Purchased mostly by the Baltimore News American for its own internal library, the newspaper on microfilm covers most issues for the following years: 1799 to 1883, 1887 to 1892, 1897 to 1920, 1946 to 1986. Other newspaper issues were microfilmed at the behest of the University of Maryland libraries and incorporated into the collection. In particular, these specific titles and holdings are first arranged into two lineages of the "American" and the "News-Post" newspapers which joined in 1964, and then arranged by chronology. The University of Maryland library catalog provides a second way to request materials in this series.
